The pH or Alkaline Diet

Filed under: Health and Wellness, diets
If you want to achieve a more alkaline state for your body, eating foods to positively impact your ph level. This is very important if you are fending off illness and when you are an athlete. The more alkaline your body is, the healthier it is. The opposite of an alkaline food is an acidic food.

What can lower your pH level or make you more acidic?

Illness can impact your pH level as well as the food you eat. Healthy pH levels can be between 7 and 8 and you can test yourself with pH kits that you can buy locally or online.

A good rule of thumb when choosing foods to eat is to eat three quarters alkaline foods and only a quarter of your diet should be acidic foods. Certain foods you might think are acidic are really not. For instance, citrus fruits actually are alkaline because of the way that your body metabolises them.

The more fruits and vegetables and raw wholesome foods you eat the better your pH balance. Junk food and processed food will impact your health, your weight and your pH.
